The combination of meeting other women, sharing stories and experiencing the wonders of nature made this trip the perfect place to reconnect on so many levels. The bonds forged there will not be easily broken!

Woodland Awakening was amazing! The daily activities were organized so that we had time for everything, including just relaxing. It was a wonderful getaway from my normally hectic life—I’m counting down the days until my next adventure with Patty!

Stepping Up and Out
is about the importance of taking care of yourself—discovering holistic wellness through adventure—a word with many definitions depending on what “adventure” means to you.

Step outside your daily routine and busy schedule and rediscover yourself. Follow your path to adventure where mind, body, and spirit come together. Stepping Up and Out will take you on a journey filled with self-empowering fun emboldened by the spirit of adventure. Along the way, you’ll learn helpful tips for reducing stress, eating healthier food and exercising more effectively. Experience the exhilaration of the outdoors, then soothe and flex your body with yoga.

One of the destinations for my trips is Western Maine, and a woman important to Maine history is from that region—“Fly Rod” Crosby. In 1897, Cornelia “Fly Rod” Crosby became the first Registered Maine Guide, an elite, certified group of guides tested and monitored by the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, State of Maine. She canoed, snowshoed, hiked, hunted and fished with great expertise, and she did it all wearing a long dress!

“Fly Rod” launched her career in the outdoors after suffering from poor health while working at a bank.  Her doctor told her she needed to quit that job and get outdoors—she did—it worked and the rest is history.

Proving what “Fly Rod” discovered long ago, recently conducted research from the University of Essex in England shows that outdoor exercise, more than indoor, lifts your mood and self-esteem, helping you fight off depression and anxiety, along with  increasing overall good health—mental and physical.

My trips offer a combination of adventure and the opportunity to learn simple, take-away techniques to improve your health. I have an adventure team (personal trainer, certified yoga instructors, kayaking outfitters, etc.) who work with me so you’ll always be adventuring in the company of these experts in a safe, secure environment.

Choose from a variety of outdoor activities including:

  • Hiking
  • Snowshoeing
  • Kayaking or canoeing
  • Ziplining

And indoors—or sometimes outdoors too:

  • Yoga
  • Easy-to-do meditations
  • Massage
  • Nutritious food

I would love to talk with you about how to create an overall wellness program that fits your life and help you discover it through adventure! To find out more, please give me a call or send an email.

I hope you decide to try adventuring with me and my adventure team.

All my best, Patty
